Spring Peepers

image-asset-1.jpg

The peepers are rioting
in the garden
The sound is so full
I nearly have to cover my ears
Life dancing in the margins

Inside, the roar is dulled
But the ache in my chest pulses loudly
Alone, but not lonely
Well, sometimes lonely

I want to join in
the riotous dance outside
To be like the peepers
Ecstatic at moonrise
Dancing and singing
for all the world to hear
